for employers the school is much more important. unless your going for a VERY high position then they don't really look at your grades.

Look at George Bush. C's and D's at Yale, and became the Presy-dent. Not that I like george bush.

Once you have your degree from an Ivy League institution employers will rarely(if at all) be interested in your grades, simply the fact that you passed.

In Finland, the place where you graduated doesn't mean anything special.

It's not worth going to an Ivy league school. The expensive professors you get are rarely there and you are almost always taught by the assistants

Grades dont matter that much when it comes to work cause then they are gonna ask you for real possibilities (that you have learned in the lvy university) not your 9th grade grades, for an example..

    • 3

Grades would matter more if you are applying to grad school. There are many other schools that are great that are not Ivy League (Stanford, MIT, UCs, etc.). If "standard college" means community college, then I would rather go with the Ivy League.

A standard university will give you a standard job, how fun. Ha. Ha. Ha. But getting B's at that kind of school still means a PASS!!!

you do realize that b's and c's at an ivy league school is like getting 100% a's in college without trying and stuff. plus it looks amazing on a job application.

You do realize that most people get B's and C's in Ivy league schools right? You are still more likely to get hired. You can also attend on scholarship too

    • 6

      KyloRenKillsHanSolo

This. Employers will still suck your cock if you go to an Ivy League School and pass with a C. They don't care about your grades at that point, when they see you attended Harvard or something, you're hired.

I got A's at a standard university. Nobody cares. So did thousands of other people. People see that Ivy League Name on your resume, and it gets your foot in the door. Alumni in powerful places can, and will help you, or take you out on their yacht because you're "one of them".

this is what you're really asking: work your ass off at higher levels to get okay results, or slouch at average levels and be awesome.

  • 15

You can easily graduate with B's and C's. Dean's List is cool and all, but Yale looks a lot prettier to potential employers.

  • 11

I chose the wrong one. Having the school under your belt works better than having a great GPA in some cases (depending on your field and continuation for masters and PHD's).

Yeah, right Berserker. You would prefer to go to your local university than get accepted in to Harvard? I'm sure given the choice you would choose the latter.

Since I have to have B's and C's, I'll have two C's and the rest of my grades can be B's. A lot better than what I did in High School.

Saying you graduated from an Ivy league school is much more impressive; people don't normally ask about your grades. Plus getting into one either means I'm really smart or at least somewhat wealthy.

What Ivy League? Also, the crippling debt of student loans(especially Ivy League)will ruin you. Go to Brigham Young University in Utah if you're a mormon because the student loans are practically nonexistent if you're a mormon. Luckily my mom was a mormon and I'm a good liar.
