Hmmm either watch your cabin fill with water and drown, rush to the life boats and see rich people stole your place, try to jump and swim in the freezing water, best case is a jump from the Zep and splat!

Are you retarded? Many of the rich people gave their spots for women and children. The rich were gentlemen back then.

Most of the people on the titanic didnt actually drown. they froze to death in the water. So, with freezing, you basically just fall asleep and die.

people saying you would die of burning, you do realize that most fire deaths are due to smoke and carbon not flame... but not only that but you could very well die from a 90 meter fall... but seeing as it says die ON and not die from which means falling would technically not be dying on odds are you die from suffication due to smoke, not the fire itself...as for the titanic you die from downing or very quick hypothermia, or people killing others to try to get a spot on the rafts, or many other things and not slow hypothermia because you are still on the ship, when you die, you are not trying to swim in the ocean, it did say die ON and not die because.

    • 0

      HH97

with that said it just says you die on, which means it is entirely possible that you where an engineer working on the Hindenburg or titanic before their launches and you died from cancer, a heart attack, old age, pneumonia, etc... never says you die during the catastrophic events of those two vessels.

    • 0

They did not drown. They froze to death, and while 20 minutes can seem like a short amount of time for over 1,500 people to freeze at once, imagine just being lost in the carnage, watching as people succumb to the cold around you and the awful realization sets in that you are numb, and your time is coming. Watching everyone you've met on the voyage, everything you brought with you, everything your life stood for to just be lost in the Atlantic until your hope dies, and eventually, you as well. Survivors said that the second worst part of the sinking was hearing the screaming of the people in the water after the ship went down. The worst part of the disaster was the silence when everyone in the water was dead. I'd rather die in 30-something seconds of pure, confusing chaos than not only have to watch an elegant and luxurious lifestyle crumble into madness and despair for 2 hours and 40 goddamn minutes, but then suffer in freezing water until your false warmth lures you into unconsciousness. Besides, the fires on the Hindenburg were practically a firestorm, you wouldn't last very long.

No, people died from falling, which I would make the most of by jumping off and enjoying the fun sensation of falling for my final moments. Better to die happy if you’re gonna die. It’s like a Buddhist parable about a monk who eats the best raspberry he ever tasted right before falling to his death.

Titanic made death seem so glamorous!

    • 9

      mrgloves

i'm sure the movie conveyed death perfectly, id take 30 seconds tops of explosion for 4 seconds, falling for 20, and being crushed for 6. compared to shivering for half an hour, then becoming so exhausted you cant keep yourself above water then consciously drowning not being able to do a damn thing to save. fantastic

Drowning is actually one of the most peaceful ways to die, so I would be happy doing that rather than being burnt to crisp, which you'd feel until you died. Plus the chances of living are higher, me being a woman, I could of got in a raft :L

Dying of hypothermia means the body goes numb and you eventually pass out before you die. Dying in a fire doesnt just magically fry your nerves so you can't feel anything. I've heard stories of people burning to death in car accidents while they scream in complete agony as each minute passes. That doesnt sound very calm to me. Not that there isnt any pain to drowning or hypothermia, but having my skin melt while I'm still alive doesn't sound too pleasant.

    • 0

      MookaBooka

People were killed in about 5 seconds during the explosion and firestorm if they were trapped in the corridors when the Hindenburg went up. I'd much prefer that to the 2 hours and 30 minutes of awaiting death aboard a sinking ship, 10 minutes of pure chaos just before the ship sinks, and then 20 minutes of watching you and everyone around you slowly freeze to death after the ship sinks. Rescue on the Titanic didn't come until 4:05 AM, and the last lifeboat was rescued past 8. The ship sank at 2:20.
