The only reason you go to school is to get that good job if you can already get it more school is just wasting more money.

Yes but what if something happens to the buisness that forces it to close down? Hrm? WHat then? You have no job and no experience.

if the business closes down you can just go back to school. plus if the business did not close down before your first or couple paychecks you just got lots of money and can still like i said before go back to school if you wanted to

there's a job opening for a lab tech in a lab on my university's medical campus. the people applying for the job have PhD's and many have published more papers than the PI of the lab they're applying to. lab tech can be done by someone with a B.S. this might be just anecdotal, but having a PhD doesn't guarantee anything at all nowadays.

the key word is HIGH paying job, without the extra work of a PhD

High paying jobs require lots of work and so does a PhD, but in the end would you rather be a wise man whom your kids think you are the smartest man on earth or a dad who wasn't there because he had to work...?

and not to say that you will be seen as a dad who didn't finish school, how would that work when you tell them to do their homework...

School is an atrocious thing, why would I continue through it meaninglessly and waste my time? I could take the job and teach myself far more, far faster.

College is a conspiracy. All it really wants is your money. The longer you're in college, the bigger hole of debt you have to crawl out of from student loans. Sure, work hard and get that PhD. Let's say you'll get about $100,000 a year and you're $137,000 in loans. Pay off $100,000 and you'll have $37,000 left to pay off, right? Nope. It'll be up $300,000 because of interest. You're an indentured servant in this economy when you finish college and have been brainwashed as a child, my friend. If you're guaranteed to get a high paying job from leaving school, then by all means take it.

I'm already planning on pursuing a PhD. I just want to be called Doctor. And be an awesome physicist. But mostly be called Doctor.

Once you have the job you wouldn't need a PhD. And if you get fired, you can always go back and resume your college courses back from where you left off. And a degree plus experience is far more valuable to employers than just a degree.
