Neither. Life is too short for worries. If you make a conscious choice to focus on the positive and what you're thankful for, you'll attract positive things to you from the quantum field. You create your reality based on your thoughts and positive thoughts attract positive things. This is scientifically proven through quantum physics. Google "Law Of Attraction"

I feel so bad for individuals dealing with this stuff. I'm not just saying that, either. I love all humans and hope the sad ones find a reason to smile.

I highly doubt most people on this question have both, ' I am sad sometimes' and ' I get excited and nervous sometimes' are different from ' I am always sad and am rarely happy except on rare occasions' and ' I am overly excited to do many things and get really nervous about things to the point my family worries about me' Unless a Doctor has said you have one ( which is rare) or both ( which is so rare that 90% of the people on this post have one much less both)

    • 4

      benis

No, none of you fucking have both. Not having a fair balance between happiness and sadness or being overly nervous about nothing sometimes doesn't necessarily mean you have either. I've heard a lot of people saying they have depression or anxiety, but most of the time, it's "self-diagnosed." If an actual doctor has confirmed that you have both, then you can only tell people "I totally have depression and/or anxiety guise :'((((". Period.

Weed gives me panic attacks. I have severe depression and anxiety and I live in a place where weed is legal, but I never touch the stuff. I think weed is great and should be legal everywhere, but the few times I tried it I got literally the worst panic attacks of my entire life. It's not a cure-all. In fact, the very few studies that have been done show that weed makes pathological (as opposed to situational) anxiety worse. But I'm for anything gets you through the day.

I have anxiety disorder and it helps me perform better in school sometimes. But with the type of person i am i would already be dead if i had hopeless and horrible depression. I only mildly have depression and i would hate to have more, along with my anxiety, adhd, ocd, fainting problems, increased chances for blood clotting, mild impairment of reading facial cues and acting accordingly, Tourette syndrome, etc.

I have an anxiety disorder, depression, ADHD, and obsessive compulsive disorder. Diagnosed with ADHD and anxiety when I was little and I was diagnosed with depression and OCD last year. I always thought anxiety was the worst for me :/ well, it's the second worst. OCD tops the charts as the worst.

For the people who seem to be under the impression that they can take magic "happy pills" for depression, I think you've been misinformed. There are medications for depression, but they don't make you instantly happy. They take weeks to kick in. Sometimes they just numb you. Sometimes they give you awful side effects or simply aren't effective for you. They can be very helpful, especially when paired with therapy, but depression medication is by no means a magic panacea. Don't trivialize the problems of the mentally ill. If it was that easy to fix, then we wouldn't have problems, would we?

As someone who has experienced both, I can tell you that depression is worse. Get badly enough depressed and you don't want to live. With anxiety living is merely a very nerve-wracking thing to do, but at least you want to.

  • 2

    Alejandro J Quintani

    • 1

      imbreathingmanually

Easy my ass. I frequently have to hide from people just because it's too emotionally tiring to keep feigning normalcy. And people can tell sometimes that I'm not doing as well as I say I do. This question depends on the intensity of both disorders more than anything else. I chose anxiety because as bad as it is, I hear that treatment is more effective on average.
