You'll be long gone before the dragon dies from age, and it will also be lost and alone at your death, unless ghosts exists which you might become one meaning it wont be but you cannot do anything to the dragon (unless ghosts can do stuff a normal human can)

So yeah while technically you would both still die, the phoenix could bring you back and when it died it would be reborn from its ashes. Mythology up in this bitch. @Catherine Phoenixes aren't MADE of fire, they are born FROM fire. They turn to ash when they die and are then reborn from the ashes. It'd be like having a bird that can heal you when it cries. Dumbledore lived to be 5405245345 years old for a reason.

maxplaz, shut up, everyone has their own opinions, also the flames of a phoenix is like the flames of hell, so its tears will just evaporate, so the phoenix is hard to control unlike a dragon, so pick the phoenix only if you have the stuff you need to handle one, for now, start with a dragon, it doesn't burn you unless they attack you, and they can be ridden for flight transportation and you can do both fight and flight
