You can't shower, mask the smell, or was your clothes for either option. You also may not layer clothes on top or strip, therefore you must keep shorts on in the winter, and pants/sweaters on in the summer, sweat in them. You also must resume everyday activites i.e. going to work school and may not stay home.

You could minimize exposure by staying isolated at home for the week, significantly limiting the social fallout.

Prolonged contact with fecal matter risks serious skin infections and rashes that wearing the same outfit does not.
Wearing the same clothes can be managed by bathing while clothed; hygiene stays intact even as the outfit shows wear.
A year of social awkwardness is far less damaging than the physical health risks of a week without basic hygiene.
