Being destroyed by a dragon is legendary and distinctive—going out in dragonfire carries a grandeur that no wolf encounter can match.
A burned house is at least explicable to insurance; a house demolished by a huffing wolf creates impossible paperwork and disbelief.
A dragon encounter is genuinely awe-inspiring and extraordinary; the spectacle itself would be the most remarkable moment of your life.

Have your house blown down by the big bad wolf

A blown-down house leaves the contents largely intact and salvageable; fire destroys everything inside along with the structure.
Wind damage is recoverable—you can return and retrieve possessions, documents, and valuables that dragonfire would have incinerated.
Being eaten by the wolf doesn't necessarily mean death; being charred by dragonfire leaves considerably less room for survival.
